This post will always be at the top of my journal.

Do these. That includes you, mom and grandma, and anyone else who knows me and reads this. It's easy and fast, and it's personal feedback. Be honest.

Whoops!

books and tea
So, I just realized that, of the three new LJ friends I have ([info]tenthz, [info]elyse, and [info]ladypluto), I hadn't added a SINGLE one of them to the filter I read every day. Whoops. All fixed now, though.

Also, for those of you wondering about the little index card instructions I sent in the envelopes of stuff, here's an explanation:

Those cards are an idea I had a few months ago. I made up a bunch of them with things to do that would make me or others feel good. The goal was to pull one out every once in a while and do what it said. However, I had pretty much forgotten about them and thus hadn't used them, so I decided to send one to each person I sent an envelope to. I have no idea what ones went to people, though, heh. Some of them include:

- Go to the bookstore. Spend no more than $15.
- Call a friend you haven't spoken to in at least a week.
- Try to contact someone from your past.
- Bake a cake, brownies, pie, cookies, or cheesecake for a friend.
- Throw five things away and donate five things to charity.
- Turn up the volume on an upbeat song and dance!

Good news - I remembered to take my camera around with me tonight, so there WILL be a Day in the Life post later/tomorrow (I haven't decided yet). It's nothing too exciting, though.

The couple didn't like the house. They wanted a dry basement that they could turn into a playroom or something. Good luck finding that around here - in the whole time we've been looking at houses, I've seen ONE with a bone-dry basement - the one we really like right now. That's it.

P.S. I realize the "moving" tag isn't exactly all about actually moving, but more about the process of trying to move.

Happiness is discovering that there is a tiger lily bush/plant/thing behind the building where you work.

I picked two of the blooms and put them in a coffee cup on my desk (it's all I could find, haha).

My love for tiger lilies knows no bounds. They make me inordinately happy.

Oh, and there's a couple looking at our house today. They have six kids, and they want to turn our garage into a family room and bedroom, then build a new garage. Another couple might look at the house this weekend. Fingers crossed!

Tonight is shopping for supplies for this weekend, then packing.

I just discovered that Hannibal has a webcam of one of the main roads, and I formulated a "brilliant" idea:

At some point while we are there, Tracy and I should go stand near the webcam at a specific time, so people can watch for us. I just don't know what the best time would be, or how to make sure we'd be there at that time.

I know, I know, I'm a dork.

I don't think I ever mentioned this awesome fact:

Tracy and I are going camping in Hannibal, MO, this weekend!

Leaving Friday after work and coming home Sunday.

Let's talk about chips.

feed the kitten
I don't know about you, but I am very particular about the chips I eat.

I like: original flavor Pringles (including low-fat or whatever, as long as the FLAVOR is original), original flavor Wavy Lays or Ruffles, Nacho Cheese Doritos, and Flat Earth chips (so far, Apple Cinnamon and Mixed Berry flavors, I'm willing to try the others, just haven't yet), and regular tortilla chips (regardless of shape, though I like the scoop ones better).

I'm not a fan of but would eat: original flavor regular potato chips (like...regular Lays...chips that aren't wavy/ridged).

I don't like: Fritos, ANY OTHER FLAVOR of Pringles/regular chips (including, to name a few, barbecue, sour cream and onion, salt and vinegar, and pizza), Sun Chips, other Doritos flavors, and baked Lays (and other similar baked chips - they taste stale).

Of all chips, my favorites are Pringles. Flat Earth Apple Cinnamon crisps are TO DIE FOR and would be excellent with vanilla ice cream, though I haven't tried that yet.

Dip-wise, I like french onion dip (preferably Prairie Farms). Dill dip is okay on ridged chips, but I prefer it on veggies.

If there are chips that are curled against themselves or folded over, I WILL eat them first. My mind thinks they taste better.

I think that pretty much covers it. What are your chip quirks?

I am sitting here watching Jeff Dunham: Spark of Insanity on Comedy Central, and CRACKING UP. It's freaking hilarious.

Link to the full 80 minutes on Google Video: here.

I came into it with only about half an hour left, so I haven't watched the beginning yet, but what I have seen is GOLD. So funny it gets an honorary funny day post of its own.

Who is your favorite comedian? I don't have a favorite as of right now, but this guy's pretty awesome.

Happy 4th, now that it's almost over!

A few things.

1. Summer now has a cast. There's a pic of her and all her wounds (not closeups or gory, just a most-of-body shot that shows where they all are) in the link below.

2. Photo post for today. Best viewed in reverse order, if you want the captions to make much sense.

3. Let's make this a funny day post, as well. What's made you laugh lately?
- Myth being a nutcase in general.
- My icon. Watch closely.
- Summer spilled her yogurt today, and Myth helped her clean it up.
- Dangit, I know there were more, because I had specifically thought "Oh, I should post this on funny day!" but now I can't think of them.

4. Tracy, this one's directed at you. Remember that time you commandeered my camera? Here's what it got you:

I hope GIFs animate on LJ, because it's not moving in the post creator. If it doesn't animate, click here.

They just got back. Summer has a splint on her right wrist and has to go see an orthopedic specialist on Thursday.

The verdict right now is that one of the small bones in her wrist is fractured.

Her right elbow and left knee are in bandages, but her left elbow and right knee are not.

Will know more after her appointment on Thursday, obviously

hang in there
Well, Mom and Summer are getting ready to go to the emergency room.

Summer crashed and burned while riding her bike, and she's got major road burn on both elbows and knees, and possibly a broken thumb and broken right arm.

Mom cleaned the wounds out with peroxide and such, but there's a knot behind her right elbow that's worrying mom.

Will update when I know more.

The seller accepted another offer on the Park Avenue house. We have until 4 p.m. Monday to come up with the money, or we lose the house.

Mom won't do a bridge loan because our house hasn't even been shown in a month, because no one is interested.

Any ideas?
1. Mom left a message at We Buy Ugly Houses, as well a similar local business. They haven't called back yet, and probably won't because it's the weekend.
2. .........
3. Profit?
